5. Zakat

Zakat is an Islamic tax on all Muslims. It is a must for all Muslims to fulfill just like the 5 prayers. Zakat can be simplified as a command from Allah. Allah has given you all that you have and own. I do not think it is too much to give 2.5% of your assets back to the community to help those in need. If you do not obey Allah’s command, do not complain if your rezeki does not come and I urge you to repent and start fulfilling all that is wajib. Zakat is different from charity, or sedekah, which is giving to the needy when you have excess in wealth as thanks to Allah for your rezeki.
